One frequent question was if this was supposed to be more “grounded and realistic” since we were going back to street crime and no super powers, but the team emphasized they are still trying to be wacky and weird and retain that draw of the series.
It went to hell, it became a superhero sim, and the series previously ended with the Saints ruling the universe.
So, the team essentially said that a reboot was the only real way forward for the franchise.
A new reboot is coming, and I managed to speak to the team behind it a while back, and have some more details to share past what was on the ONL showcase today.
